The California-based jewelry designer is a celeb-favorite known for her ethereal earrings, necklaces, and body chains. Her secret? A ton of inspiration, a little bit of cannabis, and a lot of intuition.

When it comes to designing her eponymous jewelry line, Jacquie Aiche always leads with the heart. “Everything is based on feeling,” she says. “I follow my intuition and create what lights me up inside. ”It’s a feeling that clearly resonates — and it’s garnered the Beverly Hills-based designer plenty of fans. Her jewelry has been worn by everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio to Emily Ratajkowskito Gigi Hadid; the ever-stylish Rihanna is a longtime fan. (And, not to brag, but Jacquie Aiche’s iconic finger bracelets have been featured in MOTHER’s very own lookbooks since Day One.)

But all that star power doesn’t mean that the Jacquie Aiche brand — or the designer herself — is anything other than down to earth. Aiche prides herself on her inclusivity, adamant about the fact that anyone who wears her pieces is instantly part of her #JAtribe. “I love to see people out in my designs. It will never get old,” she says. “Whether it’s a diamond layer necklace or a one-of-a-kind gemstone piece, coming across something I’ve created out in the wild is one of the best feelings.”

And, perhaps infuse the wearer with a bit of magic, too. After all, Aiche is the quintessential free spirit — one who is equally at home on the beaches of Big Sur as she is on the streets of Paris or Cairo. She’s been known to go barefoot in her studio; she can list the unique healing properties of every single crystal and gemstone. And though her pieces are drenched with sparkling diamonds and made from 14k gold, they embody an undeniable rebellion and whimsy as well: Charms might be shaped like feathers, eagles, cannabis flowers or eyes, and there’s always plenty of turquoise and fossilized stones. She calls them talismans, a way to channel the ethereal:

“I want my jewelry to inspire both women and men to feel empowered, sexy, and sensual. Each piece is created with the intention to transform your energy and fill your spirit with light.”

Aiche’s unique outlook is a product of her Egyptian-American upbringing and her West Coast roots, and it's provided a fertile jumping off point for everything from her Middle East-inspired finger bracelets to her penchant for including cannabis iconography in her designs. “The unique tapestry of my blended cultural heritage has deeply influenced the signature aesthetics of my designs,” she explains. “Growing up as a California kid, I was always surrounded by cannabis; introducing it into my designs and creating the Sweet Leaf collection felt only natural. It’s a part of my DNA — to me, it symbolizes freedom and happiness.”

And freedom and happiness might just be the best way to describe the essence of Aiche’s work. There’s a threadline of creativity, sensuality and femininity that runs through the collection — something akin to divine goddess energy invoked by the passionate nature of her Scorpio star sign. It’s an essence that Aiche has no trouble embracing. “When I get into a creative flow, the design process is like magic to me,” she explains. “I don’t choose the gemstones I work with, they choose me.” And just in case you’re wondering what kind of gemstone she thinks she would be, that’s easy: “Tourmaline. It’s offered in so many different shades; the variation of colors are perfect for all of my different sides. Just like Tourmaline, I can be fiery like the oranges, sensual like the pinks, calm like the blues, and grounded like the greens.”
