Sending Good Vibes March 2021

SENDING GOOD VIBES
Today (and every day) we celebrate badass women all over the world. As a women-led business called MOTHER, we couldn’t be more excited to highlight women and organizations we admire. For this edition, we asked women on the MOTHER team as well as Rachel Cargle, founder of The Loveland Foundation and our partner in our Badass Capsule, “What advice would you give 7-year old you?” We were moved by their words and hope they inspire you. This month, we will also have a social takeover from Ally Maki, founder of the Asian American Girl Club, sharing about why she started the club and how we can support the Asian community right now. Intersectional feminist Candace Reels and founder of Female Collective takes over our account to share some of her favorite content that uplifts women. We also share organizations and magazines that support women, and an article you can use to check out what women’s history milestone happened the year you were born, like when the first woman was appointed to the Supreme Court or first went into space (the moon is next). Blaze on!

BADASS
Rachel Cargle

Rachel Cargle founded The Loveland Foundation as a way to empower Black women and girls, providing them with access to high-quality, culturally competent therapy. MOTHER is honored to be partnering with The Loveland Foundation on Badass, a three-piece capsule that benefits her organization, and in the spirit of this month’s theme, we asked Rachel to share the words of advice she would tell her 7-year-old-self:

“I get this question often and if I had the chance to speak to a younger version of myself I would be the one asking the questions,” she says. “Things like: Remind me how to dream bigger. Tell me how you make friends so easily. What’s the secret to belly laughing about something every single day?”

MAKING HISTORY
Don Preston/The Boston Globe via Getty Images
“The feminist movement of the ’60s and ’70s reminded the world that women have always played important historical roles, despite often being overlooked,” reads a 2021 article by Stacker. “Women’s History Month in March and the commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8 allow us to celebrate the strides women have made across social, economic, political and cultural spectrums. Observing milestones in women's history also reminds us of the steps still required to achieve true gender equality... Women have left marks on everything from entertainment and music to space exploration, athletics and technology.” Find out what milestone in women’s history was achieved in your birth year.
